Mrs. Perez is thrilled to support the Social/Emotional learning at Thornton Elementary! She adores the Thornton Elementary community of staff, parents, and especially students. Mrs. Perez graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachellors degree in Modern Languages, Spanish along with completing the Elementary Education Teacher’s Licensure Program. Some of Mrs. Perez’ hobbies include hiking, camping, reading, watching movies and traveling with her husband.
In the past, Mrs. Perez has taught 1st grade and 5th grade. A positive, kind community of learners that value integrity, honesty, and respect is of the highest importance to Mrs. Perez and she holds students to a high standard so that all students feel safe, valued, and loved by all members of the school community. She also believes students should play a role in developing and encouraging a positive school environment and be involved in leadership roles when possible. Mrs. Perez loves watching students learn and grow in their academic abilities and social-emotional learning and looks forward to partnering with students, teachers, and parents to help them thrive in school!
