Miss Britt is thrilled to be a part of the Thornton Elementary community! She started working at Thornton in the fall of 2014 and has been working as a school-based speech-language pathologist since the fall of 2013. She received her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Eastern Illinois University in 2013.
She has experience working with children that have difficulty with receptive language, expressive language, articulation, oral motor skills, pragmatic language and fluency. In addition, she has experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices. She is committed to teaching the whole child and strives to help students learn effective communication skills in order to live meaningful and purposeful lives.
She is a licensed Specialized Service Provider with the Colorado Department of Education and a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with the Department of Regulatory Agencies. Additionally, she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
When she is not working, Miss Britt loves to spend time outdoors hiking, trail running, camping and snowboarding. She also enjoys cooking, reading and practicing yoga in her free time.
