2026-2027 Thornton Elementary Supply List

Welcome to the new school year! Below is the supply list for students in Preschool through 5th Grade at Thornton Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year.

All students need a backpack.

Kindergarten supply list

*Most of these supplies will become community property. Only label those items marked as "label with your child's name.

1	package of 8 glue sticks
2	large boxes of tissue
1	box Crayola washable markers
2	packs black fine tip (small) Expo dry erase markers
1	4-pack of PlayDoh (4 oz. cans, any color)
1	Crayola watercolor set- 8 colors
1	box of 24 Crayola crayons
1	coloring book (labeled with their name)
1	box of Ticonderoga pencils
Every kindergarten student should bring to class every day:
1	reusable water bottle with lid (labeled with their name)
1	full size backpack (labeled with their name)
	full change of clothes to be kept in their backpack

1	red folder, green, blue, or black

2	box tissues
1	containers disinfectant wipes
1	bottle of hand sanitizer
1	pack of post it notes
1	A spill-proof water bottle labeled with their name. No disposable bottles.

2nd Grade

1	pair of over-ear headphones (No earbuds. Headphones are very important, and earbuds often break.)
20	dry erase EXPO markers-black
1	24 count crayons
1	box of Crayola washable markers
1	Clorox wipes
2	large pink erasers
2	boxes of tissue
1	box gallon size Ziploc bags
10	glue sticks (no bottles)
1	dozen #2 wood pencils, sharpened
1	A spill-proof water bottle labeled with their name. NO DISPOSABLE WATER BOTTLES.

3rd Grade

1	pair of Fiskar scissors
6	EXPO dry erase markers (BLACK only)
2	composition notebooks (black & white)
4	plastic plain folders (heavy duty Five Star suggested)
1	pair of headphones
1	dry erase eraser (an old washcloth or sock will do)
1	box colored pencils or markers
Boys	1 box of sandwich bags
Girls	1 box of gallon bags

4th Grade

3	composition notebooks (black and white)
2	highlighters
12	EXPO dry erase markers (BLACK only)
2	large box of tissues
1	one box of colors (crayons markers or colored pencils)
1	whiteboard erasers
1	container of Clorox wipes
2	box of #2 pencils (Dixon or Ticonderoga are best)

5th Grade

5	composition notebooks
2	box of #2 pencils-(Dixon or Ticonderoga better quality)
2	highlighters
12	EXPO fine point dry erase markers (BLACK only)
1	dry erase eraser (an old washcloth or sock will do)
3	large boxes of tissue
3	plastic folders with pockets and prongs (1 blue, 1 green, 1 red)
1	pack of erasers
1	pack of 3 x 5 white index cards
2	containers of Clorox wipes
1	pair of wired headphones
Boys	1 box of sandwich bags
Girls	1 box of gallon bags
**We ask for plastic folders because they last the whole year. Paper folders get destroyed. Fifth grade does not have traditional desks, so sturdy folders are needed to keep materials organized.

1	ream white computer paper
1	4 pack of play-doh (any colors)
2	rolls of paper towels
1	bottle of Softsoap clear hand soap
Boys	1 box sandwich size ziploc bags 1 bag various color pipe cleaners 1 set (10) washable project paint
Girls	1 box gallon size ziploc bags 1 bag of cotton balls 1 water color set

Every preschool student should bring the following to class every day:

A large full-sized backpack that will fit a standard sized folder.
A full change of clothes that remains in their backpack.
A water bottle

Please label all of the above with student's name.
