February was National Kindness month and the Thornton Elementary community is working hard to show kindness throughout the school. Each classroom is setting a goal and earning kindness chains when they are showing kindness to themselves and others. When your students' class meets their goals they get to celebrate the kind acts that they have been working on!

Attendance Matters

We are here to support you! Please feel free to call us, so we can work with you to remove any attendance barriers!!

Did you know District Policy allows 5 absences per semester and 10 per school year ? Click here to read the full district policy.  Once you have exceeded the allowable amount, the following could take place:

  • Attendance phone call/attendance meeting

  • District Attendance Letters

  • Attendance Plan

  • Referral to  district level for attendance mediation and possible Truancy Court

Good attendance can help children do well in school, and eventually in the workplace and in college.
