Thornton Elementary visited by Google volunteers
- Collaborate
- Focus on Students
Thornton Elementary partnered again this year with volunteers from Google to deliver Hour of Code lessons to students in grades 2-5. The Google Employees shared with students their paths that lead them to the jobs they have with Google today. Students were surprised to hear about all of the perks to working with Google and that not everyone needed to have a college degree to get one of these jobs. Students then worked through activities on the Code.org website. The volunteers loved their day working with our students and were impressed at how much earlier students are now being introduced to coding and computer science.
