Needs Assessment:

Please take a moment to answer the survey with your student. The questions ask for families, with their child(ren), to share their experiences over the last five months, indicate if they need to be connected to resources, and allows for families and students to directly ask for support from School Counselors, Mental Health Providers and Social Emotional Learning Specialists. This assessment is voluntary and designed specifically for Thornton Elementary. If you have other students enrolled in other Adams 12 schools, please use their school specific form. If you have multiple students at this school, please complete one form per student. Thank you!

Misc

Meet our new Specials Teachers:

Ms. Leah, Art

This is the first year Ms. Leah is teaching at Thornton Elementary and she’s so excited to share her passion of art with THE students. After completing her art degree with a concentration in ceramics and a minor in art history from Metropolitan University of Denver, Ms. Leah started a family and now has three beautiful children of her own. Her passion to share her love of art never ceased and she went back to graduate school and earned her teaching certificate from Western University of Colorado. Ms. Leah is thrilled to dive into fun guided art projects this year and also excited to give her students the freedom to develop their artistic abilities through self paced exploration of artistic media. During her free time she enjoys visiting galleries to see new art exhibitions, spending time with her children now 4, 6, and 10, doing yoga and catching the latest Marvel movie in theaters!

Mx. Kai, Music

Hello Thornton Elementary Parents and Caregivers!

My name is Mx. Kai and I amthe new Music Teacher here at THE. I am so excited to be making beautiful beats and melodies with all of your kiddos this year! We are going to do a lot of fun activities, songs, and games in the music room and we'll be learning about music from all over the world and all across time! I hope to foster a lifelong love of music for our students and I can't wait to see each of them grow in their musical skills and as humans. I just know it's going to be an awesome year!

Thank you for supporting your little people and I look forward to meeting you all one day!

Sincerely,

Mx. Kai (they/them)
