Parent/Staff/Student GT Recommendation:

If you are interested in having your child be considered for the GT
identification process you need to complete the form using the link by 11/1/2021.

Students who participated in the universal screener are not required to do this.

**GT Testing takes place in-person. If the student is engaged in remote learning, they will still need to
attend in-person for the testing session.

Once you have completed the link, it will take approximately 1 week after the due date for you to receive notice from
AAGS requesting permission. You can find more detailed information regarding the GT recommendation process in
the Five Star District at the AAGS website.

Our school offerings include: Our school offerings include:  Students designated as Gifted and Talented have several opportunities a week to use our Makers Space Center.  This Center is part of our new extended library. Students use many different resources within the Makers Space to challenge their thinking and expand their creative opportunities within the school day.

Focuses on developing the whole child by balancing empowerment and accountability
Our school offerings include: Gifted learners at Thornton Elementary School have an opportunity to participate in a group geared towards supporting GT Learners with their Social Needs as well as increasing their opportunities to participate in challenging activities with like peers.  This group is led by the School Counselor.
