Clubs & Activities

Due to the fact that Thornton has an extended day program, most of the "clubs" are held during Enrichment on Friday afternoons.See below for other club offerings.
Gardening Club
In the Gardening club, we will learn the process of starting a school garden, what maintenance is required through the seasons. We will learn how to reach out to local groups to help grow, supply and support our garden project.
Reader's Theater
Students will strengthen essential reading skills, including decoding and fluency, while deepening their understanding of the grade-level content taught in their homeroom classrooms. Because the reader’s theater materials are directly aligned with our core literacy curriculum, students will have the opportunity to engage with the content more deeply in a fun, collaborative, and enriching format.
Choir
Each year, our music specialist Mx. Kai hosts two rounds of choir club for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade- one in the fall and one in the spring. Each round ends with a concert performance for families and friends where the kids get to show off all of their hard work and the skills they've gained over the semester. We always have a great time singing together and we learn so much!
